February and retirement

I can't believe it is February already. I finished work last Friday and we have just had a night away in the city to celebrate my retirement. Now we have just on 2 weeks until we leave Melbourne and head to Corryong.

Numbers are looking better for the ride with an average of 10 riders for each leg. The groups will be small but so much easier to manage and everyone should have a great time. Collis has had a small operation recently so he won't be able to lift anything too heavy so the less luggage the better.

We have a new sign for the trailer warning of bikes on the road and hopefully no-one will deface this one. So now we have the trailer sign, the two road a-frame signs and flashing road lights. Safety should not be an issue.

We have booked as far as Katherine and hopefully will book a couple each day. The places we booked earlier have already started forgetting who we are- it is always the case and can be really annoying. We are trying to get email confirmation from each place.

Will start reviewing all equipment in next couple of days. All should be in good condition but will still need reviewing and trailer repacked in a semblance of order. So many things to do and so little time to do them in. So much for retirement. Ha ha.

Past riders have been getting in touch with us recently to wish us luck and explain their reasons for not joining us this trip around. The thing is, most of them completed their circuit of Oz on the last trip. We have lots of new riders joining us and a greater percentage of women are coming along. You go girls!!
